Desiré Wilson Racing Media
Desirè was a media magnet through-out her career, nearly always drawing more attention from the newspapers, magazines and television than her competitors. The attention she attracted came from her stature as the top woman driver of her time, her high level of competitiveness against any of her male compatriots, her easy going nature and the very interesting stories that always attached themselves to her. As a consequence her media files overflow with more than 1,000 pages of miscellaneous cuttings, not including any of the television or radio coverage she drew to herself, her sponsors, her race teams and to the events at which she competed.
In 1980 she was recognized by the South African Media as their "Newsmaker of the Year".
